Smokey and I went on a photo safari around our bush camp this morning (Honey and Gary slept in). All of these photos were taken within 100 metres of our compound - it's HEAVEN. While I was having a coffee in the courtyard, Ethel came over and sat in the sun next to me, then a wagtail did the same, then a little bush quail - we were all sitting quite happily in the warmth, and suddenly WHOOSH - a small falcon came rocketing through the narrow gap between the sheds, trying to catch the wagtail - they both flew within six inches of my face!
There were half a dozen different kinds of birds all talking and hopping around in the trees until we started the generator up - can't wait for the solar kit to arrive so we can enjoy them all day long. We have a whole weekend off work, so today will be Projects Galore, putting in the gas hot water heaters which arrived in the mail yesterday. Gary was up until midnight putting in a new back door, and then for some reason we decided to rip out all the filthy old carpets at about one in the morning. Why not?
