Caravan Capers

We moved the bus over to the lovely new site next to Ian's camp today, which apparently took more logistics planning & endless technical talk than a space launch, and, as usual, a phenomenal amount of beer (does anyone in WA have a functioning liver left??) during the two day long "planning phase" which involved every adult male in the caravan park.

Various proposals included towing it with a bulldozer, pushing it with manually with 27 bored grey nomads (including the old bloke with the walking stick, who was quite keen), borrowing a flatbed truck, forcing it into gear with a stick, and so on until I suggested that we just tow it with Duncan's ute and a chain, which worked fine. As we passed some new arrivals I called out that we were towing the bus around Australia for charity.

Anyway we have a pleasant, communal shady tree site now and celebrated with a huge seafood & steak barbecue with Ian's girlfriend; Honey stole an entire steak off the hibachi and was sent to "time out". Smokey is pleased with the new mouse supply. I am contentedly painting cacti on the bus, swimming in the pool and lying around in the hammock in between home cooked meals of pumpkin soup, damper and fresh local oysters. It's GREAT.
