Manly Pursuits

After many man-hours of "preparation" the blokes made the traditional last-minute discovery that the boat engine is not actually working; fortunately this was before we put it in the water, otherwise I would be engaged in hand to hand combat on the boat miles from shore fighting over the last of the food right now.

Candy and I helped by lying on the sunny lawn with cold beer & making useful comments such as "Is it fixed yet? What's wrong with it? Why isn't it working? Why can't you fix it? How come you don't know what's wrong with it? I told you last time to get it checked out. How long before it's fixed? Has it got fuel in it? Did you check the fuel? Why is it taking so long to fix? Why didn't you check it last night? Is it broken? Are you doing it properly? Have you read the instruction book? I told you we needed a new one" etc.

Then we decided to take the tinny instead but somehow Duncan & Finn ended up in the lounge room googling new boat engine tech specs and watching footy and then it was time to eat all the snacks and people & dogs started falling asleep in various chairs until we woke up hungry again. So we went for a drive around Carnarvon & bought lots of unbelievably cheap delicious vegies and had a seafood feast provisioned from other fishing trips where people actually left the house to go fishing. Tomorrow we are going to do it all again.

  1. It's no wonder, with those types of comments, that there aren't too many women who want to go huntin' & fishin' with their male counterparts. Two went out . . . . . . but only one came back!!
