Still waiting to kidnap a plumber. Discovered that the hardware shop sells bottles of sulphuric acid for pouring into blocked drains, so tried that (you can kind of buy anything dangerous at the shop here, we don't worry too much about restricted items). Jesus christ! There must be a dead body or an entire car engine or something stuffed down there, because a whole litre of smoking, burning acid only barely dissolved it. Spectacular chemical action. Managed not to burn myself or sear my lungs with fumes, mainly by sheer luck.
Tomorrow we are going to Geraldton in the monster truck, taking the road grader in for repairs. That's if the roads are open. We had to fight people off as they bombarded us with Bunnings shopping lists. The joys of civilisation beckon - Target, KFC, Bunnings, Macca's. Gary's plan for our Australia Day celebration is to run whooping into the sea (if we can find somewhere to park the enormous truck). I feel delirious from trying to understand Facebook.
