Orstraya Day Mate

Pinnacles of outback romance: Gary asked me to come to Geraldton with him in the prime mover truck to drop the road grader off. Me: pack esky with sandwiches, snacks & drinks. Gary: pay for motel room & take sheila out for Chinese. It's all class. The prime mover is the front part of the massive articulated truck; we drove it right into downtown Gero for dinner, hilarious.

The excitement of a motel room had Gary showing off with The Towel Dance, which I believe may have been some kind of outback seduction technique with which I am not familiar. We have had a very satisfying evening of traditional motel room games including Locking The Other Person Out On The Balcony, Pillow Throwing, and Stuffing Ice Down Pants.

We had a great swim at the beach; it was crowded with Australia Day visitors. The weather is unbelievably humid. We're only here for 24 hours to get some work done on the truck & the grader, then back to Meeka. Already I miss it! Even the few traffic lights and distances between shops are hard to take.

The fan in the room is making this weird wocka wocka wocka noise which is strangely compelling, and Gary is walking around saying "wocka wocka wocka" to himself (he's really funny) and standing behind the sliding door trying to get me to lip read him saying wocka wocka wocka through the glass. Maybe we've been out in the desert too long.

Wocka wocka wocka
